Have you ever heard the saying “what goes around, comes around”? It means our actions have consequences, even if we don’t realize them at first. Life has a way of teaching us lessons about kindness and consideration.
Once, a man moved his mother into a nursing home because he couldn’t care for her after his father died. She wasn’t happy there, and he visited only occasionally.
One day, he got a call that his mother was very sick, possibly near the end of her life. He hurried to her side at the nursing home, asking how he could help.
His mother, looking into his eyes, made a simple request. She said the fans in her room felt suffocating and asked if they could be replaced. She also mentioned the refrigerator sometimes failed, leaving her hungry.
Her son was shocked. He hadn’t realized how uncomfortable she was. He asked why she hadn’t told him sooner. She sadly replied that it was too late now.
“I know I’m dying, but remember, someday you might be in my place, needing care”, she said, her words hitting him hard. “You get back what you give in life.” Her words shattered his heart. He regretted not listening to her wishes about staying home.
We have a responsibility to make sure our parents are happy in their later years. Let’s not forget this important duty. Share this story with others to remind them of a mother’s love and the importance of caring for our loved ones.
