At his wedding, the son made his mother the most important person. When his wife noticed the elderly woman there, she asked why she was present. “You should kick her out of our wedding right away”, she demanded.
The son calmly replied: “She’s my mother”. But his wife insisted that she must leave their wedding.
The son walked up to the microphone and addressed all the guests: “Who will buy my mother today? I’m selling her. What’s your offer? Because my wife doesn’t want her here”. Everyone was shocked and silent. No one responded.
He went to his mother, took her in his arms, and said: “No one wants you, Mother. But I do”. Then, he walked out of the wedding carrying his mother, leaving his bride and the guests behind, and went home with her.
A few days later, the richest man in town came to his house. He said: “I heard what happened at your wedding and how you took care of your mother. I want you to marry my daughter because if you treat your mother like that, I know you’ll take care of my daughter too”.
He married the rich man’s daughter. And the girl remained unmarried all her life because no one wanted her in their home after what happened. Do you treat your mother as your top priority like this?
