Demi Moore Shares Health News About Ex-Husband Bruce Willis as He Faces Dementia: “He Is Doing Well”

Demi Moore has provided an update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ struggle with frontotemporal dementia. During the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival on October 13, Moore, 61, spoke openly about Bruce, 69, reflecting on the diagnosis that was publicly shared by his wife, Emma Heming Willis, in February 2023.

“The disease is what it is, and I believe you need to deeply accept that realit”, Moore stated at the event, where she received the Career Achievement in Acting Award. “As for his current condition, he is stable.” Moore, who was married to Bruce from 1987 to 2000 and has three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, shared more about her perspective.

“I always encourage people to meet them where they are. Clinging to the past can feel like a losing battle”, she explained to the audience. “However, when you engage with them in the present, you can find great beauty and sweetness.”

She also mentioned visiting Bruce recently with their granddaughter, Rumer’s 17-month-old daughter, Luetta. “I was there just two days ago, and I’m committed to cherishing whatever time we have together”, she added.

Bruce’s diagnosis followed the family’s announcement in March 2022 that he was dealing with aphasia, a condition that impairs communication. An insider told Us Weekly in December 2023 that Bruce’s family, including Emma and their children, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, have been vital support during this challenging time.

“Bruce has his ups and downs, but lately, there have been more tough days than good ones”, the source revealed. “This experience has united the family even more. With uncertainty about how much time Bruce has left, they are savoring every moment they can share with him.”

Tallulah recently shared her thoughts on her visits with Bruce, telling E! News on August 29 that their bond remains strong. “Our time together is filled with love, and I feel that deeply”, she expressed. “That connection is what matters most to me.”

Rumer also gave an update on her father’s health via Instagram Stories on August 22, responding to a fan inquiry. “He is great. I love him so much. Thank you”, she said, sharing a photo of them holding hands.

According to the Mayo Clinic, frontotemporal dementia (FTD) refers to a group of brain disorders that primarily impact the frontal and temporal lobes, which are responsible for personality, behavior, and language.
