While we relax in front of the TV, many of us like to watch talent shows like “The X Factor”, there would be some nervousness, but how hard could it be, right? Today we feature a contestant who showed how real stage fright can be and who instantly won the hearts of the audience.
Christopher Maloney, a 34-year-old customer service consultant from Liverpool, had never taken part in anything like The X Factor before. It took him five years to work up the courage to audition. When he finally took the stage, his nervousness was evident, but his genuine demeanor and warm smile quickly endeared him to the crowd. Check out his performance in the video below:
Before his performance, Christopher admitted that he hadn’t realised how big the audience would be. His anxiety was palpable and he admitted that he filled out the application form several times, only to tear it up before finally deciding to take the plunge, thanks to encouragement from his family.
Christopher’s deep commitment to his family is evident in the fact that after his grandfather died, he moved in with his grandmother and became her biggest supporter, just as she became his. As a tribute to his late grandfather, he chose to sing Bette Midler’s “The Rose” at his audition, a song that was played at his grandfather’s funeral.
