Performing in front of a large audience is something special—but for the Queen, it’s unforgettable. That’s exactly what five young girls, known as the Poppy Girls, were able to do.
Bethany, Megan, Charlotte, Florence, and Alice’s fathers all served in the British armed forces. They formed a singing group and gained attention through their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
At the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance, they sang “The Call (No Need to Say Goodbye),” a song very close to their hearts. The audience loved it—but the real surprise came after the music stopped.
To applause from the audience, the host announced that Megan’s father couldn’t attend because he was stationed in the Indian Ocean. What Megan didn’t know, however, was that he was waiting backstage for a surprise reunion that had to be seen to be believed.
