Patrick Duffy, famous for his roles in Dallas and Step by Step, found love with Linda Purl during the pandemic, though they’d been friends for years. This surprising development follows a challenging period in Duffy’s life, which included a voice injury that ended his acting aspirations.
After the injury, he healed through mime and ballet teaching, and found solace in Buddhism, introduced to him by his late wife Carlyn Rosser. Their bond grew as they moved to New York and married, staying together for over four decades until her death.
Duffy also faced the tragic murder of his parents by two teenagers, but his Buddhist beliefs helped him find peace amidst the tragedy. While his sister wanted the killers to be executed, Duffy took a more forgiving approach, believing their actions would lead to their own suffering.
Despite some career challenges, Duffy remains open to returning to his iconic Dallas role, stating: “I never say ‘never again'”.
