Meet the Indian giant squirrel, almost too beautiful to be real

John Koprowski, an expert on these animals, was in disbelief when he first spotted the Malabar giant squirrel.

Given its size, John thought it was a primate, not a squirrel.

That size is not the only thing that makes her stand out. There is also her fur, more precisely the color. Enjoy the pictures.

They look like giants. Koprowski says he is a professor and assistant principal at the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona.

Basically, this is just a squirrel of huge proportions, which is much larger than the eastern gray squirrel, and much different from other squirrels we normally encounter.

They can be a variety of colors, including purple, orange, standard brown, maroon, and black.

There are some colors that are very rare in mammals, so they look completely unusual and special. These are purple and burgundy.

Another advantage besides the appearance of colorful squirrels is that they help them to escape in the wild.

As Koprowski says, among the colorful colors and dense forests, their colors give them a big advantage when they hide.

Their “true colors” and fur can be seen in the sun.

If we rely on Wikipedia, they eat the bark of trees, fruits, nuts and flowers. There are species that belong to the omnivores, in addition to eating bird eggs and insects.

It is difficult to see these Malabar squirrels on the ground, as they thrive on tall trees jumping from one to the other.

For now, still, these wonderful large animals are not in danger of extinction, but greater protection is always needed.

There is not a great chance that you will meet any of the animals in the wild.

You have to go to eastern or southern India. After that you have to go through the forest.
