When he was just 19, he got sent to jail for supposedly sneaking into American intelligence and swiping a bunch of secrets. People started calling him “the fox” because he was so sneaky.
His dad, who’s getting on in years and lives all by himself, really wanted to grow some tomatoes in the backyard, but he was too old to do it himself. So, he sent a letter to his son in jail, asking for help.
“Hey son, I wish you were here to help me plant tomatoes in the garden. It’s hard doing it all alone.”
Not long after, the dad got a letter back from his son:
“Hey Dad, don’t go digging in the garden just yet. I’ve hidden something important there, and when I’m out of jail, I’ll tell you all about it.” But before an hour passed, a bunch of cops and intelligence folks showed up and surrounded the house.
They dug and dug, but they didn’t find a thing. A week later, the dad got another letter from his son:
“Hey Dad, I hope the cops did a thorough job of digging up the garden. Now you can plant those tomatoes. And if you need anything else, just let me know. Even though I can’t be there with you, I’ll do whatever I can to help.” Lesson learned: Intelligence is a powerful thing, and if you use it right, you can work wonders.
