Tattoos offer a unique way to express one’s individuality and range from small, subtle designs to large-scale, full-body artwork. Tristan Weigelt, a 26-year-old tattoo apprentice, has been gaining attention with his remarkable transformation, showcasing his journey to body art and sharing images of what he looked like just five years ago.
When Weigelt started tattooing at age 20, he never imagined he would end up covering 95% of his body in ink. When he reflects on his transformation, he admits it feels strange to imagine himself without tattoos, yet he feels the same inside.
He described the process of tattooing his face and head as particularly excruciating, comparing the sensation to being scraped with a metal brush. During six sessions, each lasting five to six hours, the pain reached a high intensity of eight out of ten.
Weigelt also revealed that unlike many who choose tattoos with deep personal meaning, his body art is more about aesthetic preference than hidden messages. Over the course of five years, he has spent about $50,000 on his tattoos.
For those considering getting their own tattoos, Weigelt offers this advice: “Choose something you really love and that has personal meaning to you. While people often worry about whether a tattoo suits them or fits their style, if you really like it, don’t hesitate to get it.”
It’s truly a remarkable transformation! While the idea of full-body tattoos is fascinating, I’m not sure I would ever go down that path myself.
