Mayra Lisbeth Rosales, once the world’s heaviest woman at 500 kilograms, became immobile and reliant on her husband for care. Her weight gain, which initially didn’t cause health problems, eventually left her unable to perform basic tasks.
A life-changing event occurred when her sister, in a fit of rage, injured her son, leading to his death. This tragedy prompted Mayra to step in as guardian for her sister’s children. Determined to make this possible, she began a weight loss journey.
Underwent 11 surgeries and with the help of a dedicated medical team, Mayra worked through the challenges of skin and muscle deterioration. Through hard work and commitment, including exercise regimens approved by doctors, she lost over 400 kilograms, 80% of her body weight.
