Foster dad saves puppy born without front legs from euthanasia

Nobby entered this world as a tiny, precious puppy, yet he bore a significant disability – he was born without his front legs. When he was merely four hours old, the vet recommended euthanasia, believing that the challenges Nobby would face would be insurmountable.

However, Lou Robinson, a compassionate individual from Texas with a history of rescuing and adopting homeless and unwanted dogs, saw potential where others saw adversity. She made a profound choice to grant Nobby a fighting chance at life. Despite the formidable odds stacked against the puppy, with his siblings distancing themselves and his struggles to nurse, Lou was resolute in her determination to provide Nobby with the best life possible.

Against the veterinarian’s advice, Lou and her husband brought Nobby home, making a commitment to personally care for him. They took turns tending to his needs round the clock, bottle-feeding him and lavishing him with love and comfort. In a short time, Nobby transformed into a cherished member of their family, and their unwavering devotion knew no bounds as they worked to ensure his flourishing.

The journey, however, was far from smooth, as new challenges emerged.

“Days passed, and Nobby continued to thrive”, Robinson recounted. “His eyes opened, his ears developed, he discovered the world of sounds, smells, and his own voice.”

At the age of one month, Nobby encountered new health issues, including sneezing and difficulties in excretion. Oddly, small bubbles even emerged from his nose. An X-ray soon unveiled an issue with his esophagus, leading to Nobby receiving antibiotics and being placed in an incubator.

The situation appeared grim, but Nobby’s fierce determination to survive mirrored that of his foster parents, who continued to fight for his well-being. Over time, Nobby’s resilience paid off, and he evolved into a robust three-year-old canine. Despite facing various hurdles, Nobby’s indomitable spirit has proven that the impossible is achievable, amassing a dedicated following on his own Facebook page, where people can partake in his adventures.
