Unfortunately, every year there are fewer and fewer of these beautiful large animals left in the world.
However, there are those who are doing everything in their power to change that.
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a community of people willing to do anything to help elephants. In this community in Kenya, the fight to save elephants has been going on for hundreds of years.
In addition to treating more than 8,000 elephants, they have cared for over 250 of them since their first days in this world.
What people from this community are willing to do will be clear to you when you understand that they have a habit of sleeping next to small elephants, just to feel safe and happy.
Whatever people think of these magnificent large animals, the fact is that they too are looking for love and attention.
It is very difficult for baby elephants without a mother, so they need someone in their life who will be by their side.
These people really don’t have the slightest problem taking care of these animals.
Baby elephants have behavioral similarities to human babies.
As one of these people told The Dodo, they often have to get up in the middle of the night to feed one of the elephants. Sometimes they are thirsty, sometimes they are nervous, but they are still babies.
Elephants really need a lot of food, which means that the people who feed them have a lot of work to do. But, as we have already said, it is not the slightest problem for them.
These are truly wonderful people and we should all be grateful to them for what they do.
However long it takes, they will be with the elephants, just to make themselves feel good.
In order for them to grow up properly, it is necessary to take proper care of them, and these guardians do this really well.
